Common symptoms of hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoid symptoms are sometimes mistaken for irritation from clothing or from your stool being loose or hard. However, hemorrhoid symptoms should not be neglected. They will not go away, but early intervention could delay surgery or other medical procedures.

The first symptom is an itching in the area. The itching usually progresses to the point where it is annoying, though not exactly painful. A stinging feeling in the rectum is a hemorrhoid symptom. The more sitting done, the more the annoying feeling grows. This makes long driving trips very uncomfortable.

Irritation from diarrhea can cause bleeding, so this does not necessarily denote a hemorrhoid condition. When the blood is very red and located deeper within the area, then this is one of the most important hemorrhoid symptoms. If it continues then the chances of it becoming dormant decreases.

The mentioned hemorrhoid symptoms are specific to hemorrhoids. If they were signs of a more serious condition the discomfort would extend to the intestinal area. Discomfort confined to the anus area is very likely to be the onset of hemorrhoids.

It is not something to worry about excessively. You can try an over the counter cream or suppository at first. After this the hemorrhoids might have to be tied off or eventually operated on. This is done as an outpatient procedure.
